fashion friday: workout gear

We joined a gym recently.

In related news, I recently realized I need some more workout clothes. You know, ones that aren’t gross. Let’s see what we can find!

I picked up a couple of these active tanks by Old Navy – they’re so comfy and they were on sale recently for only $10.

Has anyone tried Old Navy’s compression line? These pants look amazing – and if they hold you  in a bit, I am totally buying some.

I absolutely adore these leggings by Lysse.

Personally I’m seriously eyeing this shirt from Athleta!

And I’m liking this bra cup racerback tank – may need to get this.

What are your must-have pieces for workout gear?

On Friday I went to a lunch downtown with a friend and saw a fashion show. So fun! It was really cold, so my plans for a cute skirt were no good. I went with jeans and one of my favorite ruffley tops. Oh, and we met two stars of Breaking Dawn, Tinsel Lorry and Chaske Spenser, who play Sam and Emily.

fashion friday: boots are fun

Remember in December when I talked about how I was so excited for January, because it would be so calm and relaxing and I could catch up on things and maybe even actually blog again?

I’ll pause while you finish laughing me.

So now it February and I’m just as busy as I was in December, only now its snowing. But lets turn our thoughts to happier things, like boots.

I mean, how awesome are these boots? And they’re 75% off, thankyouverymuch.

oooo – Ugg clogs! For more than 40% off! Wonder if I could walk in these without tripping. Clogs and I are not friends. For some reason I was walk in 5 inch heels, but clogs make me trip (Well, more than usual).

Well, hello there, 7 for All Mankind jeans on super clearance that just happen to be available in my size. May I introduce you to my shopping cart. I”m sure you’ll get along splendidly.

I want these jeans. Bad. MY size is all gone, though. Boo. Guess I’ll have to get the 7s after all….

Guess where these shoes are from? Come on! GUESS! Are you ready? Old Navy. For real. How fun are these loafers???

fashion friday: excited about…

There are a few things coming out in the next few weeks that I am so so excited about!

TOMS Shoes is launching ballet flats. Um. HELLO! These are so so so so cute!!! Love the blue! These come out in February.

I’m extremely, EXTREMELY excited about Jason Wu for Target – I’ve been a Jason Wu fan for awhile and this is going to be AWESOME people. I think I really need that dress on the right. Possibly in two colors.

Stella and Dot‘s new spring line is positively divine!! I am colmpetely in love with the Savannah Collection!

what i wore 1.25.12

I wore this on a busy day of errands, meetings and taking the kids to Chuck E. Cheese (gag). It was raining really hard, so I wanted to be warm and comfy. I just picked up this sweater at Old Navy – it was on super clearance and an additional 30% off, so it ended up being like $7. The necklace was also on clearance for $3. I loved the warm colors and that its bold, but not bulky.

I’ve been dying to try a denim on denim look with a chambray shirt… but worried about looking either too 1987 or too country. So I paired my shirt with dark trouser jeans, heels and piled on the jewelry. What do you think?

You may have noticed I have been drooling over a certain sweater from Free People. Since I mentioned it here. And here. And here. Well, it just showed up on Gilt. For like half off! That’s what you call Christmas money well spent right there. The necklace is the same one in the picture above – it has a removable locket, which I just love!

fashion friday: obsessed with necklaces

My post on How to Wear a Statement Necklace on my fashion blog this week got me thinking… can you really have too many statement necklaces??? (hint: the answer is always ‘no’ when I ask that…. unless I’m referring to something like ‘laundry.’)

Pricey, dreamy options:

I would never take this off all of October and November. Every fall day, I would wear this. Calico Corn Necklace, $68

What was that? Sorry. I just swooned over this amazing, perfect necklace. Graycelyn Necklace in Mixed Metal, $275

This would look amazing with a black dress… or really jazz up an everyday sweater! Sofia Pearl Bib Necklace, $118

And some more budget friendly options:

This is totally gorgeous! This just begs to be worn with a summer dress, doesn’t it? Teardrop Bead Necklace, $6.80

Um- LOVE! And for this price, I want one in every color! Colored Bead Necklace, $6.80

Ooo! Love these colors! Green Good Harmony Necklace, $24.50

what i wore :: 1.18.11

On Thursday, we went up to Boston for my husband’s grandmother’s funeral. It was a miserable day – maybe 34 degrees and raining. So I ended up swapping out the booties for knee-high boots at the last minute so I wouldn’t freeze to death.

cardigan: Loft {buy it here}
dress: target {buy it here}
shoes: Matisse bootie {buy it here}

I picked up this sweater on clearance at Jennifer on the Avenue. It is SO CUTE! I love the bow and the color… plus its super warm. This will be showing up a lot, people! I added the blue shirt to give it a pop of color.  I wore this to church on another super cold day when I wanted to be comfy but cute.

sweater: {buy it here}
shirt: Old Navy long sleeve tee {buy it here}
jeans: 7 for All Mankind {buy it here}
shoes: Target {no longer available} {similar here}
jewelry: stella and dot {buy it here}

On Monday, I paired this fun striped tee shirt (which has quickly become one of my favorite shirts!) with the cape I haven’t worn in forever. When we left to go run errands, I remembered why I haven’t worn it in forever – you can’t really wear a cape under a winter coat. So I swapped out this cardigan and added this fun scarf I just picked up on clearance at Old Navy (for like $3) for a bit of bright on a rainy day.

cape: Nordstrom Rack {similar here}
tee: LOFT {no longer available}{similar}
cardigan: LOFT {no longer available} {similar – on sale!} {similar}
jeans: The Skinny by 7 for All Mankind {buy here – on sale plus additional 20% off with code NEWYOU}
