Thursday, it was a little chilly, so I wore my cozy new sweater by Free People, picked up at T.J. Maxx for more than $100 off the original price. (Score!) The tank if from there too!

On Friday, I decided to mix brights! I’m not a ‘mixing brights’ girl. I’m more of an ‘add a splash of color to my black’ kinds girl. So this was a step for me. My husband wanted me to show the lining of the coat, because it was the “coolest part of the coat.”

I got to go on a date! Woot! I threw on some jewelry to dress up the ruffled navy sweater and jeans I was wearing! The top is from Loft (two years ago) and the jeans are from 7 for All Mankind. Shoes are open-top clogs from Target and the purse is Coach. All the jewelry is from the Banana Republic Outlet – it was all on the clearance rack and was an additional 40% off, so I think the bracelets and earrings added up to about $10!

I wore this to lunch with my husband’s co-workers. Can I just say how much I LOVE my red jeans!!??! I wear these all the time! (They are red. I swear. My husband had set the camera to all these settings I couldn’t figure out how to undo, which is why I look slightly orange.)

Happy Leap Year!

Friday was a seriously yucky day outside – cold, rainy, generally icky. Plus, Ellie was having a sleepover party for her birthday that night, so I had a ton to do! So I want to be just be comfy as I got all my work done. I wore my favorite jeggings, with a sweater tunic from H&M and a pashmina. It was perfect for the day! My little man is wearing his favorite Star Wars shirt from Old Navy.

On Friday I went to a lunch downtown with a friend and saw a fashion show. So fun! It was really cold, so my plans for a cute skirt were no good. I went with jeans and one of my favorite ruffley tops. Oh, and we met two stars of Breaking Dawn, Tinsel Lorry and Chaske Spenser, who play Sam and Emily.

On Sunday, I wore this amazing blazer from Anthropologie that I found in a consignment shop for $15 along with my newest jeans – 7 for All Mankind trouser jeans found in the same consignment store for $20! Score! I’m so hooked. I was trying this on in the morning and asked my husband, “Does this have too many ruffles?” And he replied, “Does that rule ever apply to you?” What can I say? He gets me.

I wore this on a busy day of errands, meetings and taking the kids to Chuck E. Cheese (gag). It was raining really hard, so I wanted to be warm and comfy. I just picked up this sweater at Old Navy – it was on super clearance and an additional 30% off, so it ended up being like $7. The necklace was also on clearance for $3. I loved the warm colors and that its bold, but not bulky.

I’ve been dying to try a denim on denim look with a chambray shirt… but worried about looking either too 1987 or too country. So I paired my shirt with dark trouser jeans, heels and piled on the jewelry. What do you think?

You may have noticed I have been drooling over a certain sweater from Free People. Since I mentioned it here. And here. And here. Well, it just showed up on Gilt. For like half off! That’s what you call Christmas money well spent right there. The necklace is the same one in the picture above – it has a removable locket, which I just love!

On Thursday, we went up to Boston for my husband’s grandmother’s funeral. It was a miserable day – maybe 34 degrees and raining. So I ended up swapping out the booties for knee-high boots at the last minute so I wouldn’t freeze to death.

I picked up this sweater on clearance at Jennifer on the Avenue. It is SO CUTE! I love the bow and the color… plus its super warm. This will be showing up a lot, people! I added the blue shirt to give it a pop of color.  I wore this to church on another super cold day when I wanted to be comfy but cute.

On Monday, I paired this fun striped tee shirt (which has quickly become one of my favorite shirts!) with the cape I haven’t worn in forever. When we left to go run errands, I remembered why I haven’t worn it in forever – you can’t really wear a cape under a winter coat. So I swapped out this cardigan and added this fun scarf I just picked up on clearance at Old Navy (for like $3) for a bit of bright on a rainy day.
