fashion friday: boden shopping list

The Boden Catalog arrived this week. *Cartwheel*

I love Boden. They are stylish, classic, flattering and last forever. Every single thing I’ve purchased from there is still in my closet. What is my wish list from this season?

This cardigan and lace shell are perfection…

What do I want more… a red wrap front jacket or a red mole skin blazer?

Or maybe I want a cord blazer instead…

Nevermind. I want THIS!

Happy Boden-ing!

fashion friday: crunch time

I have a wedding in less than a month. And no idea what to wear.

HALP!

Which one?

This is cute… too cute for a wedding?
Or maybe I should just go black…
Or maybe something like this. I’ve been wanting a navy dress!

Or maybe raspberry and lace….
oooo – maybe this!
HELP!

fashion friday: fall faves

Yay!! Its falllll!!!!!!

What am I MOST excited to pull out of my closet this fall?

I found this cashmere sweater by Lilly Pulitzer on consignment over the summer and I’m dying to wear it!

And I got these boots from Sorel that I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH and am wearing whenever the temp is lower than 60.

and have I ever mentioned how much I love coats? Oh I could have a pea coat in every color, couldn’t you?

And cozy sweater coats. YUM!

fashion friday: photo shoot

Tomorrow we have a family photo shoot with Kate Giovinco Photography and I am totally stressed out about what to wear.

Naturally.

Its going to be outdoors and perfect fall weather, so I’m thinking sweaters and jeans?I want to coordinate, but not be matchy-matchy. Here’s a few tips that I’m going by…

Color-Blocking

Group photos can bring one of the season’s hottest trends, color-blocking, into action. Arrange your family in different bold hues for a stylish, runway-ready look! Recommended color choices this season include jewel tones like rich purple, cobalt blue, emerald green and lipstick red. We went with reds and pinks paired with neutral gray!

Get Comfortable

Cozy knits, specifically in shades of ivory or chocolate brown, will be trending this holiday season; and the textures of sweaters can play beautifully in photos. Pair with similarly colored bottoms for just the right amount of coordination. How cozy is this?

Accessorize

Opt for one large statement piece and one small accent piece per person, such as a hair accessory or scarf – minimal accessories with maximum impact.

I’m leaving towards cozy knits in grays and blues… what do you think?

Have you ever done a family photo shoot? What did you wear?

fashion friday: birthday report

Well, I didn’t get a thing on my birthday list from last week.

Imagine my astonishment, seeing as I am not a zillionaire and most things on that list were pretty high end.

A girl can dream, though, right?

But I DID get a little somethin’ for my birthday. Since – you can not convince me this isn’t a coincidence – the Coach Factory Online sale was offering an additional 30% everything ON MY BIRTHDAY.

Meet my new baby.

The Ashley Leather Satchel. I’ve been wanting a nice black bag for awhile and I am so excited… especially since I got it for a mere $250 off!! I sent it to my husband in an email reminding him it was my birthday. You could almost HEAR the eyeroll as he told me I could buy it. (“Don’t you have a black purse?”)

The Coach Factory Store is open by invitation only – you can request an invite or email me your email address and I can request one for you! Its a lovely site,  but seriously needs to come with a warning label. Especially when these sales go on! Now its an additional 30% off everything.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

fashion friday: birthday list

Next week is my birthday!!! I though I’d be super helpful and make a list for you to make shopping easier.

For awhile now, the top of my wish list has been a Michael Kors watch. Which I got this summer at a shopping event at Lord & Taylor with Lifetime Moms. It was awesome.

SO now I have a few little other dreams brewing…

Like Tory Burch flats:
I’m obsessed with this top

I could use a nice pair of boots that I can actually wear in the snow..

And a scarf!

Or, as long as I’m really dreaming…

Feel free to shop! 😉

fashion friday: fall finds

Happy Almost-Fall!! Can you believe it?? My kids start school on Monday, we are scrambling around, shopping for school supplies, finding backpacks and other fun activities. By the way, WHY are glue sticks so expensive? Seriously?

So anyway… here are some lovely finds for this week!

How cute is this striped dress? Its on sale at Old Navy and I actually already own those shoes….

This blue sweater is fabulous. What a great color!

I am completely in love with this dress… I wonder how long it would be on me…

Maybe I need this for spring. What do you think?

Happy fall!!

Fashion Friday: BEACH!

We’re celebrating Summer ending by heading to the beach one last time.

So this is a great time to clean up for next summer on summer clearance items!

I have a cover up from Athleta that I wear all the time – and always get compliments! This one is on sale, too!

And the bathing suits for über-cheap!! I just love this striped tankini – so cute.

fashion friday: red carpet wear

I’ve seen is a few chats on Facebook that people are stressing over what to wear to the red carpet events at BlogHer. No worries. It is possible to look amazing on the red carpet even when you don’t have top designers sending you free dresses in a size 00.

Last year, we were lucky enough to go to a movie premiere and walk the red carpet. It was AMAZING and I only had one week to find a dress. I went to one of my go-to stores, Piperlime and scored this gorgeous red dress by Rachel Pally. For only around $60.

Check these babies out:

Lily Boutique, $56
I love how its navy and not black!

Piperlime, $126

Piperlime, $29
Gorgeous. And really under $30.

J. Crew, $250
If your budget is a bit higher, this is lovely!
