ready, set, GO!

Did anyone else get notes from the schools this week with about 75 very important dates to remember before the end of the school year?

OH. My. WORD!

There's the first grade concert, the preschool concert, the school fair, the parties, the field days, the games, the meetings… SERIOUSLY! If you were hoping to get together with us anytime before the end of the school year, we're going to have to take a rain check and get back to you sometime in August.

Meanwhile, I have T-minus 16 days until my in-laws arrive so its time to get my cleaning on! And by "cleaning" I don't mean vacuuming — I mean serious cleaning. One of the perks of having people live with us for a couple months every year is that I'm really motivated get my house whipped into shape! I feel a huge trip to Goodwill coming on!!

What about you? Do you spring clean?

fashion friday: what is greener than green?

Seeing as my Husband is getting an iPhone – the meanie – I'm seeing green this week.

Now personally, you will probably never see me in a bright green shirt, as that is generally not a good look for me. I can pull off sage, but that's about it! But I still love adding green to my look!

1. Green outerwear:
Blazer
Paisley Poem Blazer by J Crew is spring personified in a blazer! I love it! Or this Landmarks Jacket blazer from Anthropologie. How cute would this be with white capris or a jean skirt? This green trench coat is darling if you can pull off that color!

2. Green Accessories:
Ring
I love this green cluster ring from Old Navy! So adorable! And the Global Girlfriend Brass Hoop Drop Earrings are a must have. And an awesome statement necklace is always a great way to add some color to your look. And let us not forget my favorite accessory… a great  purse!!

3. Green Shoes.

How cute are these Navajo sandals by Jack Rogers?!! Or these Peep toes? Or how about some BCBG Sage Pumps for only $80? I have a pair of lime green heels that are super fun to add a splash of color to an outfit. And I practically live in my lime green Privos.  Ooooooh – green rain boots!!

reality hit us like a truck

As we shared a bit this week, since we got back from Hawaii we've found out our credit card number was swiped (which is dealt with, thank goodness), Colin was seriously mad at me for leaving him and was acting out like you wouldn't believe, its been a super busy scheduled week, the house is a disaster, we're supposed to go away this weekend and now Colin is now sick. He's curled up next to me right now, burning up.

SIGH.

I just want to go to bed for a few days.  And wake up and start over.

my day just got busy…

So apparently our credit card number was hijacked while we were in Hawaii.

Its not too bad – the good folks in the fraud department at AMEX caught it really early so we can hopefully get this fixed before it gets too bad!

we’re home!

*YAWN!*

We got home from Hawaii yesterday morning and we have been just soaking up the kids ever since. I had NO idea how hard it would be to be away from them for an entire week! Every time Colin sees me he gives me a huge hug and kiss. And if I'm near him, he touches me. Just reaches out a little hand to touch me while he's playing. Like he's afraid I'll evaporate into thin air any second!

We're also incredibly jet lagged. We did not really sleep on the red eye yesterday. Really, flying coach after flying first class is just not fun. On the way out we had beds that reclined flat and filet mignon for lunch. On the flight home, our seats reclined approximately 3 inches and we had mystery meat for dinner. Plus, right now it is 5am Hawaii time, so I'm drinking lots of coffee and trying my darndest to not to take a nap! Must Power Through!!

We have some amazing pictures to share but today I'm dong laundry and holding my babies!

chinatown

Last night, we took a bus to Honolulu’s Chinatown. Nick and I met while we were both living in China for a summer, so going to Chinatown always brings us back! (Wow – was that really 12 years ago?) In our true overly-adventurous form, we even successfully navigated the public bus system to get there and back!

blogging will be light this week…

Because I'm here:

Hilton

With my husband. Alone. In HAWAII!

We're celebrating our 10th anniversary a bit early with a little week-long getaway. I'm looking forward to some good beach time — without kids! Meaning I can actually relax on the beach and not have to constantly be counting heads to make sure everyone's accounted for.

Have a great week!

inspiration – 4.25

9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:

 10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!

11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?

12 Though one may be overpowered,
       two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
