let’s all plan my sister’s wedding together! this will be fun!

So yesterday I emailed my sister after being on vacation for a whole week and asked what she needed help with for the wedding planning. She wrote back and said "Palettes!! Help!!"  So, being the helpful big sister that I am, I spent a few happy hours pouring through pictures of flowers and cakes and dresses looking for color ideas to inspire her.

Its a rough job, but someone had to step up to the plate. I am also available for cake testing. I am an excellent cake eater tester.

Is there such a thing as "Bridesmaid-zilla?"

ANYWAY, craziness aside, I came up with a LOT of possible palettes, but here are my three favorites (you will have to click on these to get the full effect):
Nicolepalette1
Nicolepalette3
Nicolepalette5
Its an evening wedding in the summer. (If you are a woman, you know how vitally important that detail is. If you are a man, you probably have stopped reading by now.)

What color palette do you like best?

My brother got married last June and they had the third color palette – and it was beautiful! The blue color (they called it “pool”) looked good on everyone and felt like summer!

Oooooohhhh. So FUN! I love this kind of stuff – especially when it’s not my wedding and all of the crazy stress that comes with THAT!
If I had it to do over again, I’d do the black and brights color palette. That would be fabulous for an evening wedding and very sophisticated!
I can’t wait until my sister gets married!

The last one…for sure! The brightness of the blues will be gorgeous at night. Plus, blue is easy for pretty much everyone to wear. AND if she has blue flowers in her bouquet she will have her something blue! lol

Oh, I love, love, love planning weddings. I love the brights but I’m not completely a fan of black for weddings, especially in the summer. Although, at least with black dresses the bridesmaid might actually get to wear them for something else.
I also like the seaglass option. Just don’t do bright turquoise (or teal) colors because it comes off like an 80s prom. Love the suggestion of incorporating the something blue in the flowers. Or maybe she could have something blue added to her dress or her shoes or jewelry.
All those pictures are so elegant. But I think for summer having color really emphasizes the time of year. So, for me the green is a little too understated.
Having fun planning the wedding (er, um – helping your sister).

I absolutely love the green and white (looks like my kitchen color scheme …and I think it would be perfect for a spring wedding) but really, I think that would be a bit too understated for an evening wedding, so my vote is the black and brights! :)

Indoors or out? If it’s indoors, I like the green, maybe because it reminds me of outside? If it’s outdoors, I love the blue – I saw this article once about a midnight garden, and those cool blue colors and whites totally pop in the evening/night.
